The FIDIC conditions set out a number of tasks and responsibilities for the Contract Engineer, including:<br><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><b>Supervision of contractors:<\/b> The Contract Engineer supervises the activities of the contractors, monitors the progress of the work and ensures that the schedule and quality standards are met.<\/li>\n<li><b>Coordination of activities:<\/b> Construction supervision coordinates the cooperation between the various parties involved in the construction process, such as architects, engineers, contractors, etc.<\/li>\n<li><b>Dispute resolution:<\/b> The Contract Engineer is authorised to settle any disputes between the contracting parties, including disputes concerning the quality of performance, deadlines or payment.<\/li>\n<li><b>Documentation and reporting:<\/b> The Contract Engineer maintains records related to the progress of work, changes to the project and dispute resolution. He reports regularly to the developer on the status of the project.<\/li>\n<li><b>Payment approval: <\/b>The Contract Engineer approves payments to the contractors for the completed works, once they have been approved and checked for compliance with the contract.<\/li>\n<li><b>Technical supervision:<\/b> The Contract Engineer provides technical oversight of the entire construction project, ensuring compliance with design requirements and technical standards.<\/li>\n<li><b>Change management:<\/b> The Contract Engineer is responsible for managing changes to the project, including negotiating and approving changes to the scope of work, cost and schedule.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The FIDIC conditions provide the overall structure of construction contracts and define the roles and responsibilities of the various parties in the project delivery process.
